HIDDEN ADU

This parcel’s original detached garage was never built. Cairns Architecture was brought in to remedy that and to increase the value and usability of the structure by including a second story accessory dwelling unit (ADU).
The main house was built in a beautiful, rustic style that was mirrored in the new building. The 1.5 story structure helped bring down the mass over the overall building, but still allowed for a spacious, vaulted studio ADU. Windows were strategically placed to let in lots of natural daylight, but while maintain privacy between the ADU and main residence.
